This DIY face mask is simple to whip together, but ultra cooling and refreshing!

Cucumber Face Mask Recipe

This is a variation of the previous recipe, that’s best used for normal to oily complexions. (Clay may feel too drying for delicate, dry skin.) It features the addition of mineral rich French green clay to deeply lift away and gently cleanse accumulated dirt and oils from your skin.

Even though I call this a face mask, you really could use it on your throat, chest, back, or other places your skin might be broken out.

To make this, you’ll need:

  • 1 Batch of Cucumber Skin Treatment (from recipe above)
  • about 1 tsp French Green Clay

Cucumber Face Mask Instructions:

Stir the clay into the Cucumber Skin Treatment until a medium-thin paste forms. Feel free to use less or more clay per your personal preference.

Rub the mixture over the clean skin of your face and anywhere acne or oily skin plagues you. Leave on for about 10 minutes then rinse well with lukewarm water.

This homemade cucumber face mask has a very short shelf life. You can make the cucumber/aloe/water portion ahead of time and keep it in the fridge for 12 to 24 hours, adding the clay in right before you plan to use it. Discard any leftover after 24 hours.

Cooling Cucumber Face Mask & Skin Treatment

Here are two easy cucumber mask and skin care treatment recipes to help cool and soothe your skin during hot weather!

For the Cucumber Skin Treatment

  • 1 cup fresh cucumber slices, unpeeled or peeled
  • 1 tbsp aloe vera gel, bottled or fresh
  • 2 tbsp witch hazel (or water)

For the Cucumber Face Mask

  • 1 batch Cucumber Skin Treatment (from above)
  • 1 tsp French green clay

For the Cucumber Face Treatment

  • Use a mini food processor or bullet-style blender to thoroughly blend together the cucumber, aloe, and witch hazel (or water).

  • If your cucumber puree seems like it has too many cucumber chunks or is too thick, just more witch hazel (or water) to thin it out and continue blending.

  • To use: Rub the cucumber mixture over your face, throat, and body. Leave on for about 10 to 15 minutes then rinse well with lukewarm water.

  • Store unused cucumber mixture in the fridge for up to 24 hours. Discard leftovers.

For the Cucumber Face Mask

  • Combine one batch of the cucumber face treatment from above, with 1 teaspoon of French green clay.

  • You may wish to add more clay for a thicker texture, or a little extra witch hazel (or water) for a thinner texture, to suit your personal preferences.

  • Rub the mixture over the clean skin of your face and anywhere acne or oily skin plagues you

  • Leave on for about 10 minutes then rinse well with lukewarm water.

  • Shelf life of unused mask is about 24 hours. Discard leftovers.
