With the Olympic Games officially starting today, we’re intrigued to learn that P&G have opened a beauty salon in the Olympic Village. And it’s not only haircuts and waxing sessions they’ll be offering the athletes, gathering in Paris from all corners of the globe: there’s perfume on offer, too.
How very French (and how we approve!)
Apparently the salon will include a scent shop, with curated fragrance brands the sporting competitors will be able to choose from. We’ve no idea what their perfumed picks will be, of course, but here’s what we recommend YOU seek out, no matter if you’re inspired to go to the gym, get a few extra steps in each day, or simply enjoy watching the games from your sofa. And the best thing is, they’re all medal-worthy, with every single spritz…
ARgENTUM Become
Inspiring you to become the very best version of yourself through a fragrant mantra of the ‘pursuit of beauty through balance – a place for harmony and love’, this is gently encouraging and hugely grounding. The signature scent of the house’s remarkable healing skincare, too, it’s ‘A flight of citrus accompanied by the delicate essence of rosewood and geranium leaves, thriving on a vibrant heart of spices that extend to a composition of sandalwood and patchouli.’ There’s even a silver charm in the lid, which you can wear as your own inspirational metal!

Bentley Momentum Unbreakable
Master Perfumer Fabrice Pellegrin teams with up-and-coming talent Ane Ayo, to take the dual steering wheels of this scent. Dreamwood© is a key ingredient – the supremely smooth woody note being a 100% natural ingredient used in place of Mysore sandalwood (now a highly protected species), obtained through carbon-neutral biotechnology. Cool violet (another of our floral trend predictions) shimmers through verdant greenery to liquorice-y dried fruits and immortelle fluffed amber. Another instant classic.

Edeniste Lifeboost Energy
Gloriously doing exactly what it says on the bottle, this is fragrance house that offers scents that do way more than simply smell great, having spent years of research, and working with neuroscientists to achieve (in this one) a perfume that genuinely perks you up. As they describe, it’s ‘A reviving musky woody citrus. A refreshing splash of citruses from Italy, infused with the energizing essences of peppery bergamot and regenerative grapefruit, boosted with zingy ginger absolute from Ethiopia. As bright and empowering as a tall dewy glass of freshly squeezed juice.’ Get up and glow!

Officine Universelle Buly Eau Gymnastique
The brilliant French cult brand always manage to surprise and delight, and here so-cleverly present a ‘perfume for training shoes’. Banish all thoughts of usual ‘shoe deodorisers’ as this actually makes sneakers smell ‘box fresh’! It genuinely smells of brand new trainers – that pristine white upper with leather accents. You know the smell (and many serious collectors of sneakers are somewhat addicted to the scent). Buly explain that ‘For both high-level athletes as for ordinary people, the stakes are high,’ and with this spray, ‘…it provides shoes with a scent that everyone likes to find: the smell of newness.’

Memo Paris Odéon – Edition 2024
‘In the heart of Paris,’ says Memo ‘roams a new neighborhood with a melody swelling embodying the creative flame of Odéon. Its amber glow fanned by candied date and sandalwood. A round of applause for the performance of the essence of rose, of Tonka bean, before rediscovering the charms of the old stones and silver roofs, of letting yourself be engulfed by the presence of musk.’ This limited-edition fragrance is available exclusively online and in their Boutique Cambon at Paris. ‘Paying tribute to the Summer Games 2024 taking place in Paris, this perfume epitomises opulence and exaltation.’ Bravo!
