Haus Labs Triclone Skin Tech Foundation Review & Swatch

I have finally gotten around to testing out the Haus Labs Triclone Skin Tech Foundation and I have been really enjoying it. Here’s what you need to know.

What is Haus Labs Triclone Skin Tech Foundation?

Haus Labs Triclone Foundation
Haus Labs Triclone Foundation

Haus Labs is Lady Gaga’s makeup brand that launched exclusively at Sephora in the UK* earlier this year. The foundation uses a fermented arnica within the formula which makes it pretty unique!

The formula is described as:

  • Medium buildable coverage
  • Serum-like texture
  • Designed to blur and smooth the skin
  • Infused with fermented arnica that helps reduce redness
  • Protects from environmental stress
  • Made with 20+ skincare ingredients
  • Promises longwear hold, without slipping or caking
  • Available in 51 shades (my shade is 130*)

Key Ingredients

Patent-Pending Fermented Arnica – helps visibly reduce redness and irritation, helps even skin tone, protects skin from environmental stress

BioFerment 7 Complex – patent-pending, bio-engineered, antioxidant rich complex that provides protection from oxidative and environmental stress (includes ferments of arnica, green tea, Shiunko, Licorice Root, Marine Algae, Tomato Leaf Extract)

Squalane – soothes and conditions skin

IntelliZen 7 Complex – proprietary blend of medicinal herbs that work synergistically to promote healing and calming.

Haus Labs Triclone Skin Tech Foundation Shades & Swatch

There are 51 shades in the collection across a range of shade families and undertones.

The Shade Families are: Deep, Medium Deep, Medium, Light Medium, Light, Fair

The Undertones are:

  • Warm: Pink, rosy or peach tones – When you get warm, your skin gets flushed and red. The veins in your wrist are primarily blue or purple.
  • Cool: Yellow, golden or olive tones – Your skin tans easily after spending time in the sun. The veins in your wrist are primarily green.
  • Neutral: Balance of golden + rosy tones – The veins in your wrist are a mix of blue + green.

Whist I am usually considered a neutral skin tone, I was actually matched to shade 130 Light Warm, and I think this works really well on my skin tone.

My Review of Haus Labs Triclone Skin Tech Foundation

Haus Labs Triclone Skin Tech Foundation

I really don’t know why it has taken me so long to try this out, because I was matched at the UK launch event and the sample was sent to me shortly after. I guess life kind of got in the way!

Anyway I have tried it now, and I have to say, it really is very lovely. What I like about it is that it offers really good coverage, without having to build, and yet it still has a glowy finish. I often find that higher coverage foundations can lack the glow I like, but that isn’t the case with this one.

So, as you apply this foundation, you can really notice that it has a lovely nourishing finish. A light layer instantly gives you a really healthy, hydrated look with luminosity.

I would say that this gives a dewy finish. If you have oily skin you may want to set this.

The packaging is really nice and I love how the glass bottle feels in my hand. It has a black plump, which I wasn’t expecting with a silver cap, however the pump is really easy to control. You can dispense a tiny amount, or a full pump with ease.

What skin type is it good for?

I have combination skin and find this works well on my skin type. I can get away without powdering which is always good news for me.

If I wanted it to last and last, I’d use a tiny bit of powder in the places I shine the most. Haus Labs don’t state which skin types that it is best for, so I am assuming that they intend for it to be suitable for all skin types.

I think the Haus Labs foundation will be perfect for dry or mature skin types. Oily skin types that don’t like too much glow may not love it as much.

Do you need to powder it?

I am combination skin, as I said, and I have mainly been skipping powder. If you are oily, you will probably want to set this with powder.

Is it easy to apply?

I have been using a buffing brush to apply this Foundation and I find that it melts into my skin and blends out really easily. As you apply this, it feels like a serum-type foundation.

What is the coverage like?

What I like about this foundation is that is delivers really good coverage in a very light layer, which means it keeps your skin looking just like skin. It is very good for covering any redness and I find that it also minimises pores nicely and it good on texture and fine lines.

Haus Labs state that this is a medium coverage foundation. However, I find the coverage more than a medium, yet it still looks natural. I can use one pump for my whole face and that’s more than enough to even out my skin tone, cover redness and basically give the skin a more flawless look.

What is the finish like?

I really like the luminosity that this foundation brings to my skin. It makes my skin look healthy and dewy and has a finish that glows without being greasy or oily. I find that it feels weightless on the skin.

What shade to choose?

I was matched to shade 130 Light Warm which I think works well for my skin tone. For reference, my other matches are:

This chart may help you if you’re still not sure. I think it might be worth considering that I am usually a neutral tone, and I was matched to a warm.

All in all, this is my kind of foundation, and if you love makeup with skincare, and an illuminated finish, I think you could love it too. I think with this formula, less is more, so try to avoid using too much product.
