Fall is here, and with it comes the bitter chill and dry air that can wreak havoc on your skin. But fear not, we’ve got you covered. This blog post will guide you through some DIY winter skincare tips and tricks.
“Your skin is your body’s largest organ. It’s also the most visible, so it’s important to take good care of it, especially during the harsh winter months.”
Here are a few DIY winter skincare tips that you can easily implement:
- Stay Hydrated: Ensure you drink enough water. Hydration is not just about applying topical solutions to your skin, but also about hydrating from within. Hydration (controversial take!) can also be tea and coffee. There’s new research that says actually those drinks don’t dehydrate you (!) so it all counts.
- Exfoliate: Regularly exfoliating your skin helps to remove dead cells, allowing your skin to absorb moisturizing products more effectively. A favorite exfoliant project I love is a throwback – this Golden Sugar Scrub project.
- Use a Humidifier: Winter air can be dry, but a humidifier can add much-needed moisture to the air in your home, helping keep your skin hydrated. It’s tempting to add essential oils to your humdifier but don’t … essential oils can break the machine. (Ugh!) But some Lavender essential oil in your laundry (I just dab some Lavender 40/42 on a sock and toss it in the drier) can definitely brighten up the house without ruining your humidifier. =)
